Philippine Month: Artistes du Monde for Kids transformed Place Flagey into a vibrant hub of art, learning, and cultural exchange, celebrating Philippine creativity through exhibitions and participatory events for young audiences. Held from 13 June to 12 July 2025 at rue du Cygnes 10, Ixelles, Belgium, the program offered children and families multiple entry points into Philippine art and storytelling.
At the heart of Philippine Month was an art exhibition featuring works by Jonabel Huevas and Brendan Tabangay, whose pieces invited viewers to explore imagination, nature, and inner worlds through color and form. The exhibition was complemented by a series of literature and art workshops led by Meg Gerner, Mylene Factora, Meg Santiago, and visiting paper artist Badz Magsumbol, creating hands-on opportunities for children to respond creatively to the artworks on view.
Beyond the gallery space, Philippine Month extended into communal experiences, including a brunch and mini-concert, reinforcing the idea that art, music, and food can work together to build connection and curiosity across cultures.
Organized by PACE (Philippine Art and Culture Exchange), the program emphasized accessibility, play, and cultural dialogue, positioning art as both an educational and social experience.
